Deputy Jorida Tabaku has demanded the arrest of the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, after the "5D" file scandal.

Tabaku said on Alba Alishan's "Debat" show that SPAK should act in the same way as with former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj, for whom there is an arrest warrant.

"Who would have thought that Arben Ahmetaj is on the run today, some time ago I told him "I sleep peacefully, do you sleep peacefully or are you waiting for SPAK to bring a summons?", and a few months later it came to him, today he is on the run, the success is that an arrest warrant was cut for Arben Ahmetaj, the failure is that he is not behind bars today, I expect the same for Erion Veliaj", she emphasized.

We remind you that 9 directors of Veliaj have been caught by SPAK and it is expected that several others will be arrested for corruption in the Municipality of Tirana.

CNA has reported that the investigations for the Municipality of Tirana are continuing and further actions are expected from the Special Prosecutor's Office./ CNA
