Scandal with toxic waste/ Grigels Muçollari: The prosecution should make

The member of the Presidency of the DP Grigels Muçollari from Durrës has made a statement regarding the governmental scandal of 102 containers with hazardous waste.

Muçollari has requested that the Durrës Prosecutor's Office be transparent with the investigations into containers with hazardous waste.

"We are here in Porto Romano in Durrës, at the distance that the police allow, where the 102 containers with hazardous waste suspected to be toxic have been placed.

For several days, these items, which traveled the world but were returned as illegal traffic, have been closed behind this wall and controlled by the police.

Citizens do not know what is happening.

From the beginning, the government has not done its duty, it has not been transparent. Although she is totally responsible for this situation.

The Minister of the Environment tells us every day how good the pie that is made in Gjirokastra is, but she does not do the job for which she is paid, for which she has legal and moral responsibility.

Where do these wastes come from, who generated them, how many are there in Albania?

How endangered are we, how much has our ecosystem been affected by hazardous substances?

The truth must come out. Only the truth will help us deal with this phenomenon properly, and prevent it from happening again.

Even the prosecution of Durrës has the obligation to explain to the citizens how far it has gone with these investigations. Although everyone knows well, that she will not be able to release the governmental responsibilities for this scandal.

Everything that is happening so far does not serve transparency, openness. But on the contrary, this story tends to close.

Because the international criteria are not being applied in this case, which are taking samples in 3 containers with an undamaged seal in front of everyone, and sending them for analysis to 3 different certified laboratories, preferably in EU countries.

If this is left to our authorities, it is understood that the conclusions will be read by someone, but they will be written on Edi Rama's desk.

Edi Rama seeks to escape from this responsibility, from this grave embarrassment of being involved in illegal traffic of hazardous waste. While we, the citizens of the country, want to know the truth about the environment, about the health of our ecosystem.

Which is more important?", said Muçollari./ CNA
