Lawyer Jordan Daci shared today details from the legal side of the processes related to the duty of a mayor, on the eve of the meeting for the arrested mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.

In a television appearance, Daci stated that as long as the matter is normal in terms of the time provided for in the law, the act of dismissal is important, but the Constitutional Court cannot give it priority. 

"The mayor is sometimes more important than a deputy. If you were to ask me politically, I would say he should be dismissed, but legally as a lawyer I say no. He has reasonable grounds to request this. If it were the standard 3-month period, they would dismiss him even earlier. The logic is this, as long as the issue is normal, it is important but it cannot be judged by the Constitutional Court with priority. In this regard, the Constitutional Court cannot give priority." - said Daci./CNA
