Member of the National Council of the Democratic Party, Ilir Alimehmeti, commented this Saturday regarding the open race for the leadership of the Municipality of Tirana.

In an interview with A2CNN, Alimehmeti also focused on the role of the DP as the largest opposition force in the country, emphasizing that for this race it must behave like a big brother who has responsibility and unites the entire opposition front.

"The Socialist Party has used the mentality of the invader. Which means, it removes and abolishes those who oppose it, tries to buy and intimidate those who remain and says, this is all that is left and these are the ones who vote. Currently, today as we speak, we have 48% in the Tirana district as it is. Where does it have the strength? If a common language of summary is found, who does this belong to? It belongs to the DP, it is the first and largest opposition force. These are my words that I have said for years, it is not that I am changing any words today. The big brother has a responsibility at home, to gather the other brothers and sisters. What do we stand for? We stand against depopulation, against corruption, for the family, we stand for faith, let's gather. We stand for the nation, so these unite us. We can discuss the programs because we may have different methods for how we develop these," said Alimehmeti./CNA
