Prime Minister Edi Rama is in Rome today, where he participated in the dedicated event, "Giro d'Italia", one of the most famous sports activities in the world, where Albania was selected among many candidates to make "La Grande Partenza 2025" - "The Start e Madhe 2025", which will be broadcast live on over 200 televisions around the world.

Prime Minister Rama said that the stages of the race will be spectacular as they highlight the wonderful nature of the country.

During his speech, the Prime Minister emphasized that the interest of Italian tourists to visit Albania has increased significantly in recent years.

"Albania is a blessed country, in the sense that in a small territory there is everything, we have many mountains, two seas, many rivers. From this point of view, these three stages are spectacular as they highlight a very beautiful part of the country and on the other hand it is extraordinary, that it is a way to show Albania like in a movie.
I want to say with pride that when we started this new journey of rebirth of the country, the number of Italians visiting Albania was modest. Then, only in recent years there was a huge increase in the number. For example, in 2023 we reached about 800 thousand Italian tourists who visited Albania, while in 2024 we closed with 1.4 million Italian visitors, a doubling in a short time." 
 

The famous popular race, with a 114-year tradition, will gather the world's best cyclists in May in Tirana, Durrës and Vlora. /CNA
