The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, spoke at today's media conference about participating in the EPP political assembly.
Berisha said that after Ukraine, Albania was at the center of the assembly's work. The leader of the Democrat party said that the assembly adopted a resolution on the situation in Albania.
Berisha also focused on the EPP fact-finding report, which he said clearly revealed the bitter truths about Albania.
Berisha's statement
The last two days, together with Mrs. Albana Vokshi, Jorida Tabaku and Enrik Çeno, Genti Strazimir, we participated in the proceedings of the political assembly of the European People's Party.
What I can report to you today, apart from a series of meetings we held with representatives of sister parties, meetings and brief conversations with the president of the EPP, with the Chancellor of Austria and with representatives of other friendly countries, after Ukraine, Albania was at the epicenter of the proceedings of the EPP political assembly.
For Albania, the assembly approved the report of the fact-finding mission it sent, consisting of 27 members, on February 26-27, 2026.
And as for Albania, the assembly adopted a special resolution dedicated to Albania and the situation in Albania.
I take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to the leaders of the EPP, President Weber, Secretary General Montserrat, and all those who came on the fact-finding mission for the extraordinary report that they published and approved yesterday at the EPP political assembly.
The report is a unique, faithful reflection like never before in the history of the country of Albania, of the regime of Edi Rama, the regime that has transformed the elections into an electoral farce, the regime that has concentrated all power in one hand, that controls the media and justice, the regime based on state capture, drugs, crime and corruption.
Never before in any international report have the bitter truths of Albania been revealed as clearly as in this report.
The report has an axis, and I can tell you that its axis is the capture of the state.
Albania is a country gripped by crime, drugs, and criminal organizations.
Albania, according to the report, which cites V-Dem, says that it has deep, major deficits in the fundamental principles of the electoral process.
Albania, according to the report, has built a network of patronage agents, a vote-buying system, and has engaged criminal groups to control the will of citizens.
It has erased the dividing line between state institutions and party structures.
Albania is therefore the country in which narco-euros have become a factor that is destroying the Albanian economy.
A place where the race does not exist or is completely fictitious.
Giant crime and drug money laundering machine.
The country where corruption is officially protected.
It stops at AKSHI, at his black hand in the AKSHI file.
It stops at concessions and PPPs.
In public procurement with clientele.
Here too, there is no competition, no dividing line. Everything is concentrated in the hands of Edi Rama.
