Trump on profits over $1 billion from cryptocurrencies: Everyone is benefiting

US President Donald Trump has stated that he has earned around $1.2 billion from his cryptocurrency activities in 2025, stating that "everyone benefits" from his return to the White House.

" You know why I made profits, because the stock market is rising, everyone benefits," he told reporters, as he prepared for his first trip on the new presidential plane that, according to statements, was donated to him by Qatar.

Asked about criticism that he is using the presidency to enrich himself, the Republican billionaire responded that his income is managed by independent administrators, as is usually the case with high-ranking public officials.

"I don't personally deal with my finances. We have funds that manage my money. I made a lot of money before I became president and they invest it for me without contacting me," he said.

Trump emphasized that his wealth comes from his previous business career, although critics say some of the income is related to activities launched after his return to the presidency in 2025.

According to documents released by the federal Office of Government Ethics (OGE), Trump benefited from about $1.2 billion in 2025 from investments in the company World Liberty Financial and from the cryptocurrency that bears his name, $TRUMP, which was launched a few hours before his inauguration in January 2025.

The former president and real estate businessman often faces accusations of conflict of interest, especially due to his investments in the cryptocurrency sector, while his administration has undertaken deregulation measures that, according to critics, have contributed to the increase in market values. /CNA
