Former head of IMT leaves cell/ Këlliçi: Erion Veliaj's

Democratic MP, Belind Këlliçi, reacted a few minutes ago regarding the change in the security measure for the former director of IMT, Mariglen Qato, one of the defendants in the "5D" file.

Through a post on social media, Këlliçi states that with this decision, not an ordinary individual is leaving the cell, but a former manager who imposed fines when he was at the head of the institution and shared Tirana Municipality tenders with his friends.

According to the MP, a member of the "5D" gang of arrested Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj is leaving his cell while citizens protesting against corruption are being held inside police stations today.

"The day Maringlen Qato, one of the main exponents of the 5D gang, left his cell to remain under house arrest, young people protesting against government corruption entered Tirana police stations.

The one who imposed fines on the head of the IMT and shared municipal tenders with his friends is released from prison, and those who protest against the abuse of power and demand justice are met with violence.

Erion Veliaj's 5D gang was one of the most brutal forms of theft in Tirana's history.

They were no longer satisfied with the percentages they received for each procurement, and Veliaj's top directors decided to create their own company and take over all the municipality's funds.

I have denounced them since day one, and the battle that I and the Opposition waged with 5D and their boss was a determined resistance that finally brought about the reaction of justice.

Qato is not the first member of 5D to break out of prison.
