Interpellation with Rama about the protest/ The request of the DP Parliamentary

Today's plenary session has begun in the Parliament.

At the start of the session, the Speaker of the Parliament, Niko Peleshi, announced the rejection of the request of the DP Parliamentary Group for an interpellation with Prime Minister Edi Rama regarding the protesters' demands.

"I have responded negatively to the request for interpellation. From the review of the request, it results that most of the issues raised are of a legislative nature as they are related to the amendment or repeal of legal acts in force and not to the search for explanations for concrete activities ," said Peleshi.

After the request was rejected, the leader of the DP Group, Gazment Bardhi, took the floor and accused Rama of avoiding accountability in the Assembly. 

"Today, we would not put handcuffs on Edi Rama for the crimes he has committed. We asked the Prime Minister to inform the Parliament about the measures taken by the Council of Ministers to address the concerns identified in the EP resolution. Nothing more. We did not ask him to accept the demands of the protesters but to come to parliament and give an account for the actions of his government. Edi Rama is no longer behaving as a prime minister but as the owner of Albania ," Bardhi said.

Meanwhile, a protest against the government is taking place outside the Parliament. /CNA
