Citizens' protest/Këlliçi: 6 facts that explain why there has

DP MP Belind Këlliçi took the floor in the Assembly, where he spoke about the protest that has been taking place for a month on "Dëshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard.

Këlliçi spoke about what he called the six facts and evidence as to why citizens have been protesting for 30 days. According to him, this evidence was not collected by the opposition, but was written by people closest to Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Excerpt from Këlliç's speech:

Today I come with facts that explain why there have been protests on the boulevard for 30 days. The worst irony is that most of this evidence was not collected by the opposition, but written by people closest to Edi Rama.

1. Albanians have been in the streets for 30 days. They are protesting against a model that has turned Albania into private property. This is precisely why we asked for a parliamentary debate. This Assembly cannot act as if nothing is happening outside these walls. On June 17, the European Parliament adopted the resolution on the EC report on Albania, where it called for the repeal of the amendment to the law on protected areas. Meanwhile, there was silence in this hall.
2. The Albanian Files. This fantastic book came out. This book is proof, not the problem. You only have to live in Albania every day to know everything that is documented in this book. This is the book of people who have been at the heart of the biggest projects of this country. In this 750-page book, there is not even an Albanian architect. The country appears as a free land.

3. How decisions are made with a phone call. A world-famous architect says he received a message asking if he agreed to give his number to the Albanian prime minister. A project worth tens of millions of euros is being developed from this phone call. One says the prime minister wrote to him on Instagram. Is this how a European capital is built? With a phone call, with a 24-hour visit.

4. The letter that should never have been published. When I read it, I didn't feel insulted as an opposition member, but as a citizen of Albania. This one hopes that there will never be elections and that Edi Rama will be crowned king. An investigative commission should be established to examine how these architects have won projects worth millions of euros.

5. From architects to patronageists. Here you will find politics, attacks on the opposition and manipulation of political history. This studio calls the DP the former communist political force of the country. What drives an international studio to speak as patronageists? Is this a coincidence?

6. Europe is also saying the same things. Criticism of the strategic investment law, of the protected areas law. Citizens who are in the square are demanding Europe, those standards that this government is violating. This book is not the main character of this story, but the protesters on the boulevard. /CNA
