Foreign services at play?/ Journalist: They may have been sitting cross-legged

Journalist Mentor Kikia raised questions today regarding the presence of foreign secret services in Tirana since the civic protest.

While speaking about this issue on a television show, Kikia said that Albanians deserve an answer to this important narrative, as, as he argued, it can lead to national insecurity.

Further, Kikia stated that these secret services of neighboring countries such as Greece or Serbia, but also the rumored Iran, may be sitting idly in Albania.

According to the journalist, Albanian parallel structures must be capable and ready for action.

"We are in a situation where a serious response is warranted or a narrative must be abandoned; the intervention of foreign services. I think it is shameful for a state that, at the very first opportunity, when it sees that not just supporters of a political party, but different citizens have taken to the streets, begins to label them as agents or financed by Greek or Serbian services. Then by Iranian services. I do not doubt that Albania has hostile countries in the region or that Iran, with the problem of Hormuz, has time to deal with us as well. The question is whether foreign services are sitting idly by here or are capable of financing to go out in protest, but where are our services? They should have been capable of acting. If so, it means that our national security has declined," said Kikia./CNA
