Rama: Serbia does not have the capacity to sanction Russia

Prime Minister Edi Rama says that Serbia does not have the capacity to fully sanction Russia.

In an interview for "Euronews Serbia", Rama stated that he would like Serbia to impose sanctions, but according to him, this would bring more problems than it would harm Russia.

"First of all, because Serbia does not have the capacity to fully sanction Russia. It has neither the technical capacity to live without Russian gas, nor the financial capacity to survive this. And the fact that Serbia has voted 3 times in a row in the United Nations to condemn the aggression, and even to exclude Russia from the Human Rights Committee, this means a lot.

Now, of course we are 100% aligned with the policies of the European Union in terms of sanctions. Of course I would like Serbia to sanction Russia, but I think that would bring much more problems than it would harm Russia. But, if this pressure would have broken the relations between Serbia and the West, this would have resulted in a real disaster", he said./euronews
