The Albanian government has approved the extension of a grant of considerable importance and value awarded by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). This grant aimed to support the Tourism and Infrastructure Enabling Program.
The decision entered into force this Monday and paves the way for the use of funds for a longer period, ensuring the full realization of important investments in infrastructure and tourism development.
According to the official letter dated April 16, 2025, sent to the Minister of Finance, Petrit Malaj, by the EBRD Country Manager for Albania, Ekaterina Solovova, the Bank has approved the extension of the Grant Availability Date until December 27, 2027.
This extension of the deadline comes at the request of the Albanian Government and is related to the need for more operational time for the implementation of the projects. The original grant, approved on 12.11.2020, is thus added another two years to achieve the objectives. /CNA
