"DP should share its mind"/ Shehaj: We will not sit in negotiations

The leader of the Opportunity Party, Agron Shehaj, clearly stated that he will not join negotiations with the Democratic Party if the largest opposition force does not designate a common name for the entire party to run for the Tirana Municipality elections.

In a statement to the media, Shehaj said that the DP should make up its mind before continuing discussions with the small opposition parties.

Shehaj called this step a golden opportunity to defeat the Socialist Party candidate.

"The citizens of Tirana often ask me if we have names. Absolutely, we have some names and candidacies that are very good, that can win against the candidacy of the socialists. There are candidates. Simply, the DP should make up its mind. We cannot sit in negotiations without knowing what we are negotiating about. If they want to know from the Opportunity Party and from us, if we will support a candidate from the Democratic Party, it is useless to sit in negotiations and at the table. The answer is no. If they are ready and have made up their minds to run for an opposition representative, to unite the opposition and to get votes beyond the opposition parties, then we absolutely agree. This is a start. Let's start with the Municipality of Tirana and show that Edi Rama can. This is a golden chance", - said Shehaj. /CNA
