The government sends the notification for the vacancy in the Municipality of Tirana to the Central Election Commission.

The notification was sent on September 25th following the decision of the Council of Ministers to dismiss the former mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.

The letter sent to the CEC states:

Subject: For the information of the STATE ELECTION COMMISSIONER

"Dear,

At the meeting of the Council of Ministers dated 25.9.2025, we inform you that decision no. 539, dated 25.9.2025, of the Council of Ministers, "On the dismissal from office of the Mayor of Tirana, Mr. Erion Veliaj " has been approved./ CNA
