Minister Mirela Kumbaro has criticized the municipalities regarding forest management.

Mirela Kumbaro, alongside the Minister of State for Local Government, Arbjan Mazniku, in the meeting held today with the mayors in the presentation of the activities of the national calendar of the Year of Forests, emphasized that the poor work done by the municipalities is an unacceptable situation. 

Minister Kumbaro pointed out that 33 municipalities do not have any forest breeding plan and also for 8 years that they have been managing the forests, they have not made any investment in the forest fund.

"It is unacceptable that 8 years after you became the owners, administrators of 50% of the municipalities do not have these breeding plans. "Since 8 years after they became 'owners, administrators' of this property, 50% of the municipalities do not even have a breeding plan for these forests," she said. 

According to her, some municipalities that have a considerable forest fund in relation to the population, have income thanks to these economies but have no investments at all, have had poor performance. For this, she mentioned the municipalities of Mirdita, Fushë Arrezi, Tropoja, Puka, Kolonje, Skrapar and Dibra. 

"It is also not normal that municipalities with very large forest areas realize or declare very little income, such as Malësi e Madhe, Puka Hasi. There are, and worse, municipalities that report zero income such as Himara, Finiqi, Lezha, Dropulli , Memaliaj, Kurbini, Divjaka, Roskoveci, Vlora. I refer to the reports made to the National Agency of questions," continued the minister./ CNA
