The deputy of the Democratic Party, Oerd Bylykbashi, said in a press conference that pluralism in the economy has been destroyed, bringing corruption, clientelism and poverty.

"It is the duty of the opposition to put this government in front of the facts so that Albanians understand what they have been through and what awaits them in 2024. The year 2023 was a year characterized by lack of transparency, lack of competition, clientelism. All this from corruption. All this has led to a gigantic corrupt mechanism, in which public money is being stolen for the private interests of Edi Rama and the people who surround him. The year 2023 is a year that has completely exposed the mechanism of centralization of power by Edi Rama, who has produced all these effects that I said before", said Bylykbashi. 

According to Bylykbashi, the separation between public power and private interests has been broken, undoing the possibility of control and accountability.

"We have nominal laws, laws made for private individuals, it is the case of the Port of Durrës but also others. We have PPPs, which together as a mechanism are creating a very dangerous moment for democracy in Albania. The division between public power and private interests, undoing the possibility of control and accountability. And all this leads to corruption, to clientelism, the impoverishment of the economy because the possibility of pluralism in the economy to produce good things for Albanians is removed.
