The opposition protest ends, the citizens are determined to remove Veliaj

Protests in front of the City Hall of Tirana lasted almost two hours, where angry citizens demanded the removal of the mayor Erion Veliaj at any cost. 

This is the second protest held in front of this institution, which was triggered by the scandals and corrupt affairs in this municipality, where the SPAK's investigations on the "5D" file have arrested directors of Veliaj for abuse of office and abuse of tenders.

There were no shortage of clashes with the police, tensions, throwing of cigarette butts and flakandans, and the citizens expressed their determination that the protests will continue until Veliaj resigns. 

They also tried to enter the municipality. Even members of the Municipal Council were not allowed to enter this institution. Hundreds of police forces were on the ground and barriers were placed around the building. It is not known whether or not Veliaj was in the office at the time of the protest. /CNA
