Democratic Party MP Belind Këlliçi, invited to Syri TV, spoke about the local by-elections in 6 municipalities in the country. Këlliçi provided details from today's meeting, where he revealed that no specific names were discussed, but rather the identities of the candidates.

Regarding the DP's decision to support independent candidates, Këlliçi said that it was a difficult decision that also met with opposition from branch leaders.

Regarding the option of how the opposition will run in the local by-elections, Këlliçi said that there are three options, which in addition to supporting independent candidates, also include names from the DP structures, as well as another option of new people from the field of academia.

The Democrat said that 4 names from the DP have expressed their willingness to run for the Municipality of Tirana. The names are Adriana Kalaja, Et'hem Aga, Klevis Balliu and Edi Paloka. However, said Këlliçi, the option to support the independent candidate was chosen, in order to maximize votes.

Regarding a possible deadline for how long negotiations with other opposition parties could last, the MP said they would be concluded within two days.
