"We don't have a campaign program"/ Berisha: We dream of a Great

Today, the Democratic Party and the Alliance for a Greater Albania unveil the program for a Greater Albania 2025-2029. The presentation of the program will take place this Saturday at the National Assembly, which is being held at the Palace of Congresses in Tirana. Also present was the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha.

In his speech, Berisha said that the party and alliance's program was drafted over three full years and is not just for an electoral campaign.

Berisha stated that Albania today is suffering the consequences of an invasion and the theft that has been committed against Albanians for the past 12 years.

Berisha added that the DP has created the Great Albania project, as the project that will rehabilitate and elevate Albania.

"This project that we are implementing did not come out of nowhere, nor did we copy it from somewhere like Edi Rama did a while ago, nor was it drafted in three months just for an electoral campaign.

No and no. It took three full years to draft the Greater Albania project.

The day I answered the call to return to defend democracy, that day I made a decision. I was not returning for power, I was not returning for wealth, nor for luxury, I was not interested in them even in my youth, when I returned to the battle for my dignity.

Even less can I be in the beautiful autumn of my life and after a fulfilling career, if I were to return, I decided to do everything for a new legacy of the DP, of the Albanian opposition, of the Albanian conservatives.

And with the previous achievement, political pluralism during the first Berisha, NATO during the second Berisha, I was looking for something for the third Berisha to completely surpass the first and second several times over.

And this something had to provide answers to the overwhelming problems of Albanians. That's why we did this project, knowing the dangerous situation Albania finds itself in.

Albania today is suffering the consequences of an invasion from the theft that has been done to Albanians for the past 12 years. We are in conditions of great economic inequality. Education has collapsed as the PISA test shows. Healthcare has been destroyed as the Oncology Hospital scandal shows. High prices and corruption have made building a life impossible for young people. 45 percent of Albanians have left and 84 percent of those who remain want to leave.

That's why the DP dug into history to find out what programs were used by countries that found themselves in ruins, as Albania is today, after 12 years of narco-dictatorship.

Inspired by these projects, we designed the Great Albania project, as the project that will rehabilitate and lift Albania from the consequences brought by the Renaissance in 12 years.

But here, modestly, I will disagree with those who say that politics is the art of the possible.

No, for me and for you who achieved pluralism, who achieved Albania's membership in NATO, we have achieved the impossible with our politics.

"That's why we started this project with the same formula used in previous achievements. We started it with a dream and this dream is called Great Albania," Berisha said./CNA
