Journalist Artan Hoxha has stated that Fredi Beleri, the candidate of the "Together We Win" coalition for Himara, should have been in prison for years as a person involved in the Peshpia event in 1994.

Hoxha said that Beleri was convicted for the 2003 elections for desecrating national symbols but was never arrested.

Among other things, he added that Beleri should not be allowed to run since in 2019 the prosecution and SPAK have conducted investigations on him and he was not allowed to run according to the law at that time.

The journalist stated that that obstacle was removed in 2021 and he could now run in the elections.

"The event that I want to single out is the fact that this event is about national security before it is about the political issue between the majority and politics. National interests must prevail first. DP and SP have collaborated to take the municipality from Bollano who was behind and Beleri for these interests. Beleri was convicted in the 2003 elections for desecration of national symbols but was never arrested. It has been investigated for the massacre of 1994. Beleri, for me, should have been in prison for years for the Peshkepi event in 1994, where the nation's martyrs lost their lives.
