Democratic Party MP Ina Zhupa, in an interview with "Syri TV" about the first day of school, stated that in the 2025-2026 school year, there is half of the enrollment in schools from first grade to high school.

The decline in enrollment, according to MP Zhupa, is related to emigration from the country. For the DP MP, education in our country is the most indoctrinated and has never been a priority of Rama's governments.

Zhupa said that in just one mandate, 2021-2025, with Edi Rama's government, there are 19% fewer students in high schools, 17% fewer students from 6th to 9th grade, and 11% fewer from first to fifth grade.

"The misfortune is that in this government, education has never been a priority in any aspect. On the contrary, they have functioned according to the well-known philosophy that 'if you want to control a people, you control it through education' and always those in power who do not love their people but love their power more, control it through education. By not allowing this, they do not have an educated people.

We have actually seen this in the dictatorship in Albania, where education was the most indoctrinated. There the young socialist man was formed, there the texts that would be used to indoctrinate him with communist philosophy were chosen, while the other method is that if you cannot indoctrinate him due to the advancement of society, technology, knowledge, and a democracy that is living, then destroy it, make it ineffective for gaining knowledge and strengthening intellectually.

This is actually happening in Albania and you mentioned it rightly and one of the main data of this year is the decline in the number of students. And the decline in the number of students is clearly linked to departures from Albania, to departures also due to failure in education. Today I have published figures for only one mandate of Edi Rama, I did not start from 2013 because that is almost a catastrophe, because that is almost a halving of students, but in just one mandate 2021-2025 with the government of Edi Rama, we have -19% fewer students in high schools, -17% of students from grade 6 to grade 9, -11% from grade 1 to grade 5.
