From DW/ October 7 protest, the opposition demands a technical government

Deutsche Welle has covered the October 7 protest, where the opposition and thousands of protesters took to the streets of the capital, setting fire to the country's main institutions.

The German media, through a video, described the most culminating moments and the reactions of the protesters, who said that Rama should leave power.

"Clashes between the police and the opposition, who demand the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, took place during the opposition's protest.

The police fired tear gas to disperse the protesters who were moving towards the parliament.

Demonstrators tried to break the police cordon.

Some threw molotov cocktails.

"Let the criminal, the traitor of the nation, run away from here. This is why we have gathered today and for this poverty that has brought, that is why we have all the children outside. We have only two old men left at home", said one of the protesters.

Protesters accuse the government of corruption, nepotism and silencing the opposition.

They want a technical government ahead of next year's elections.
