The Central Election Commission has proposed fines for some of the mayoral candidates who participated in the May 14, 2023 elections.

The head of the CEC, Ilirjan Celibashi, said that some candidates received not according to the form provided by the law through the bank, but cash worth over 50 thousand ALL.

Also, he stated that some others were financed by donors for whom the law provides prohibitions.

Specifically, the head of the CEC proposed:

The Mayor of Belsh, Arif Tafani - 206 thousand Lek fine;

The Mayor of Fier, Armando Subashi - 138 thousand ALL fine;

Mayor of Durrës Municipality, Emirjana Sakon - 75 thousand ALL fine;

The Mayor of Kuçovo, Kreshnik Hajdari - 500 thousand Lek fine;

Mayor of Roskovec Municipality, Majlinda Bufi - 243 thousand Lek fine;

Mayor of Librazhd, Mariglen Disha - 125 thousand lek fine;

Mayor of Burrel, Agron Malaj - 80,000 lek fine;

Mayor of Peqin, Bukurosh Maçi - 70 thousand lek fine;

The Mayor of Mirdita, Albert Mlyshi - 300 thousand Lek fine;

Shkodër PD candidate, Bardh Spahia - 445 thousand Lek fine;

DP candidate Ura Vajgurore, Bujar Hoxha - 156 thousand ALL fine;

Durres DP candidate, Igli Cara - 368 thousand ALL fine;

Kuçovo PD candidate, Lefter Maliqi - 170,000 lek fine;

Elbasan PD candidate, Luciano Boçi - 72,000 Lek fine;

The mayor of SP Lezhë, Pjerin Ndreu, fined 720 thousand ALL./ CNA
