The DP's political leader for the Diaspora, Jozefina Topalli, has reacted to the protest that took place this evening in Tirana.

She has stated that protest and civil disobedience are the only way to protect our right, freedom and dignity as a nation.

Topalli has documented the violence used by the police, while emphasizing that the protesters were attacked because they told the truth and did not remain silent.

When institutions are captured, when corruption and crime rule the state, and when the citizen is treated as the enemy, protest and civil disobedience are the only way to protect our right, freedom and dignity as a nation.

In an Albania where:

• The policeman kills the businessman and no one is held responsible,

• The judge orders murder as if it were a crime scene,

• Prosecutors cooperate with crime,

47% of children live in poverty.

• Half of the population has been forced to leave the country,

The Prime Minister travels abroad to meet the diaspora, not to listen to them, but to attack them when they dare to oppose him.

From the direction of the country, to the direction of the fists.

When citizens speak the truth, his response is violence and arrogance. The Prime Minister of Albania physically beats those who do not remain silent, leaving them on a stretcher. This is the face of a government that has lost all connection with its people.

Stop the arrogance! Stop the violence!

Albania deserves a brighter future, not a government that attacks citizens inside and outside the country.
