The lack of schools in Tirana/Veliaj is justified by the Ukraine-Russia war

Mayor Erion Veliaj has revealed the reason why schools have not been built in the area of ??Astir and Lake Dry.

In an interview for "Euronews Albania", Veliaj said that the consequences of the Ukraine-Russia war are one of the main reasons that have not made it possible to build these schools in the capital.

The mayor emphasized that construction permits were granted in the above-mentioned areas without any criteria from the PD.

"I am proud that we made 40 schools, but we could not finish the last lot because of the conditions created by the war in Ukraine. There are 5 schools in Astir-Kashar-Yzberisht, 2 in Dry Lake and 2 in Sauk and 1 in the Police Academy. The ambition was for 50 schools, of which we built 40. The schools that have not been built are in two former municipalities, which were run by the PD, where construction permits were given without any criteria. The recovery of the land was postponed due to the trials," he said./CNA.al
