The month of Ramadan/ Rama hosts iftar in Elbasan

Prime Minister Edi Rama hosted an iftar in Elbasan today. At the start of the iftar, Rama wished all believers an accepted fast and prayers.

In his speech, Rama first focused on the uniqueness of this month of Ramadan, at a time when in Elbasan, the Ballie Mosque received the award as the most beautiful object of worship in 2025, while in Tirana the doors of the Great Mosque of Namazgja have opened.

Rama emphasized that as a non-Muslim, he thinks about the goodness of living in a country with full religious tolerance.

Rama also read a religious poem, which he had selected from the Islamic faith.

"This fast is special because the image of this iftar is the image of the Ballie Mosque in Elbasan, which was also awarded an award.

Meanwhile, the Great Mosque of Namazgja has also opened its doors in Tirana.

It gives me an almost childlike sense of joy and a naivety that I don't deny myself.

We are given the opportunity to feel good about the triumph of kindness and life.

"On days like this, I, a non-Muslim, also think about the goodness of living in a country where rituals and beliefs shine as a very beautiful part of the same necklace of the nation," said Rama./CNA
