Parliamentary group meeting/ DP requests investigative commission for AKSHI

At today's parliamentary group meeting, the Democratic Party requested the establishment of an Investigative Commission for the National Anti-Corruption Commission.

In the announcement made, the parliamentary group states that it has requested the establishment of a committee to control legality and to assess cybersecurity and data protection.

Today, the Parliamentary Group, among other things, decided to request the establishment of an Investigative Committee to control the legality of the functioning of the National Agency for the Information Society (AKSHI), as well as to assess cybersecurity and the protection of citizens' data, including analyzing the risks to national security and Albania's obligations as a NATO member state.

Parliamentary control is necessary to guarantee the democratic functioning of institutions and protect the public interest. As a constitutional right of the opposition, we appeal to the majority to be responsible and not to obstruct the exercise of this responsibility./CNA
