The Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu, hosted today a group of excellent high school graduates from Tirana high schools, to discuss the development of the State Matura and to share this year's innovations in the exam process. In her conversation with the graduates, Minister Manastirliu emphasized the importance of preparation and ensuring a fair and orderly process for all high school graduates.
"The model tests, which we have been giving to high school graduates for two years now since January, are a very good opportunity to familiarize yourself with the test method for the four matura exams. What is important this year is that we have reorganized the question bank, because the teachers who are involved, the drafters of the theses, have revised them very carefully. On the other hand, as for the test administrators, they will be the teachers who will be in the selected testing facilities and there will be over 140 schools that have been decided to be the testing facilities for the state matura exams. More than 640 evaluators are engaged, that is, teachers who will correct the tests," said Manastiliu, adding that for this year the Ministry of Education and Sports has decided to also have personalized tests for high school graduates with special abilities.
Asked by the graduates about the future of the State Matura format, Minister Manastirliu stated that the future of Matura testing will move towards digitalization, as work is being done to guarantee the infrastructure through the QSHA as well as investments in the SMART laboratory network throughout the country. Regarding the alternatives offered by higher education in Albania, for which the graduates showed particular interest, Minister Manastirliu said:
“The opportunities that exist in Albania today to pursue a quality education are much greater than they were yesterday. Today our universities are connected to prestigious European universities. We have the Agricultural University of Tirana that is connected to the University of Natural Sciences, Boku in Vienna and in the first few years there will be unified diplomas just like if you had studied in Vienna, Austria. Meanwhile, we have double programs and joint diplomas with foreign universities starting with universities in Italy, where joint programs and double diplomas create opportunities to have the same programs, with the same standards and for the diploma to be recognized in all countries. Campuses of well-known international universities are opening in Albania. The Tirana campus of the College of Europe was opened for the master's level for all those who study international political science. Another campus is opening this year, that of the Technological University of Compiègne at the Polytechnic University of Tirana, for very interesting and up-to-date branches related to electronics and electronic engineering that you "to have the same diplomas as in France. We are doing the same thing with Istanbul Technical University and we are expanding with other universities to have joint programs and double diplomas," said Minister of Education and Sports Ogerta Manastirliu./CNA
