Yesterday, a news about the consumption of electricity circulated in the media. The media described the decrease in energy consumption as paradoxical, as they claimed that this could not happen at a time when the number of tourists has increased.
The Deputy Prime Minister, at the same time the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku reacted to this news on Wednesday.
Through a status on social networks, Balluku says that dark news aims to misinform the public opinion even when there are reasons to appreciate achievements.
The minister emphasizes that the decrease in energy consumption has to do with the government's program for the installation of solar panels and the reduction of technical and non-technical losses in the distribution network.
" For those who rumble the dark news even where there is full light and where there is reason to appreciate the achievements, as they are joint sacrifices of the citizens and the Government, I want to clarify the public opinion that is regularly misinformed. The decrease in electricity consumption has been and will be the aim and purpose of our work, so we have long since started to implement the strategy of diversification of energy resources. Also, our energy efficiency policies have given the first results.
The decline in consumption has to do with 2 optimistic facts for our country that we should be proud of:
• Over 120MUH installed for self-consumption by businesses and family subscribers. It is enough to remember the support that the Albanian Government gives to each of these two groups, from water heating panels and up to 500 kilos of exchange.
The second reason is undoubtedly the merit of the hard work of OSHEE employees
• Reduction of technical and non-technical losses in the distribution network.
The achievements of the targets must be evaluated, the sector must be recognized for its extraordinary progress, and words do not frighten us, as the results speak for us ", says Balluk's reaction. / CNA
