Binaj: I am the citizens' candidate whenever elections are held

The candidate in the race for the leadership of the municipality of Tirana, Florjan Binaj, has issued a reaction following the Constitutional Court's decision to suspend the President's decree on the date of the elections in the capital.

In his Facebook post, Binaj, supported by opposition parties, states that whenever the vote is scheduled, they will participate as the citizens' candidate. He further adds that until then, they will continue to work to restore citizens' trust in honest politics.

The Constitutional Court has today decided to suspend President Bajram Begaj's decree on the date of the elections in the municipality of Tirana. The Constitutional Court decided by unanimous vote that the appeal of former mayor Erion Veliaj will be reviewed in a public session on October 31, 2025./CNA
