112 new security officers certified/ Kumbaro and Koçiu: Maximum attention

Minister of Education Mirela Kumbaro and Minister of Interior Albana Koçiu participated in the certification ceremony of 112 new school security officers held at the Security Academy.

In her speech, Minister Kumbaro said that new officers will be directly signed contracts and that the salary fund is ready.

The godfather asked the officers to record everything in order to prevent incidents.

" You are here today, 112 security officers who have completed the course and are ready to start work in the coming days. We also have the necessary salary fund, to sign contracts directly. It is a very important element. It is not a figure that schools are traditionally used to. It is a figure that the Albanian government has recently introduced in recent years into the pre-university education system, as it has introduced the psychologist, as it has introduced the social worker. None of you, including teachers, can be successful if you do not make a daily balance and if you do not note and document every episode, every sign, every signal that may seem valuable to you. It is better perhaps to be more careful, even exaggerated in our care, because every signal would help the State Police in time to prevent it ", said the Minister of Education.

Interior Minister Albana Koçiu stated that school security officers will have the full support of the State Police and the number of officers in schools with many students will increase.

" When parents take their children to school, they also look to the security officer, because you are not only there to ensure that the child is safe, but you are also there to communicate any insecurity of the child, any need and to convey it to all the links that are currently in the school. With the State Police, we have done a very good job to ensure patrols outside schools, to guarantee the external perimeter not only from all those environments that are unsuitable for the safety of students, but also to have increased patrolling by police forces.

"What we are doing with the Ministry of Education is to increase the presence of police officers in schools with a significant number of students, especially during the long break or when classes end.
