Prime Minister Edi Rama and Mayor Erion Veliaj seem to not have a good relationship between them for years now.
Rama has not held any reservations, but has publicly expressed his dissatisfaction with Veliaj several times, and has even treated him like a badly beaten dog.
It is enough to recall only a few cases to understand the direct messages that the head of government has addressed to his mayor, who already has the directors in prison.
On December 31, 2018, Rama publicly admitted that Veliaj had launched a conspiracy against him with the former Minister of the Interior, Fatmir Xhafaj. At that time, the head of the government warned his mayor, in a press conference, that he will be hanged from a tree.
"Erion Veliaj can appear on television as much as he wants, he can plant as many trees as he wants, but one day he will hang on one of those trees, he will hang as an example that in this party hostile groups will continue to get their blow ", he said.
Another case where Rama has degenerated the head of the municipality immersed in corruption is that of June 27, 2019, where during a meeting with citizens he asked him to account for the Zoo.
"Will it become a Zoo or not? What process is it in? You have broken your promise to the Zoo", the prime minister addressed him.
Rama gave another ultimatum to Veliaj on December 2, 2019, for the stairs of a palace in Shkoza , where he had gone to visit the Lala family.
"You can come here tomorrow morning." I leave at 5:30 to go to work, you leave at 4:30. Tomorrow you will have painted them, you understand? I got it!", the prime minister ordered the mayor.
The next case when the head of the government embarrassed Veliaj was the one with the cow. On October 9, 2020, Rama forced Veliaj to buy a cow for a family in Baldushk, where they had gone to visit.
"Whatever you do, bring the cow here on Monday morning. Let him find what you sold, or find something else," he emphasized.
The last case we are bringing is on January 28, 2021. The Prime Minister gave a firm order to Veliaj to work in 3 shifts in the "5 May" neighborhood of the capital, to fix the canals.
"Here you have to work 3 shifts, this is taxing. With three shifts, the spotlights should be put on", the head of the government underlined.
These are just some of the cases when Rama treated Veliaj like a beaten dog and made him a fool in the eyes of all Albanians, giving him strict orders and even warning him.
And Veliaj, with his tail between the saddles, ate the shame with bread. Regardless of the fact that everything has been public, the mayor of the thieving directors still tries to act as if nothing happened, but now he is no different than curled up./ CNA
