For several weeks, the Alliance for the Protection of the Theater in cooperation with the opposition, have held several protests in front of the Municipality of Tirana and the Assembly regarding the corrupt affairs of the incinerators and the "5D" file. 

Citizens have demanded the removal of Erion Veliaj and Edi Rama. 

At the beginning of the protests, the chairman of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, participated, but recently he has been seen withdrawing, not participating. 

Today in a press conference, Meta was asked about this issue. He excused himself that he was not present at today's protest in front of the Assembly, as he was at the airport, returning from meetings in Berlin. 

"It can never be said that the protests are a failure for the opposition, they are the voice of the citizens to give the strong message of abnormality. I was not there for the reason that a little while ago I came from the airport of Rinas, I was on a visit to Berlin , for meetings in the Bundestang. PL has been, is and will be in every opposition protest, convinced that this is the only way for the citizens' voice to be heard, but also to triumph. Without any doubt, the former mayor of Tirana , the day will come very soon when he will have to see the municipality from the outside," said Meta./CNA
