Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha made a call to critics during his speech at the nightly gathering, on "Mustafa Matohiti" street.

BerIsha raised the alarm that Albania is in an existential emergency.

For this reason, he asked critics to put aside divisions and unite against Edi Rama's government.

"In 33 years of political career, never has a message of mine been more urgent than today's message for you and all Albanians. In 33 years of career, never has a call of mine been so vital as what I do tonight on behalf of you and DP.

That's why my words today go to every street, every square, every city, all over the country. These words apply to every street and alley in Albania. These words go to the hearts of every Albanian. Every person who has Albanian blood under their skin.

Democrats and other opposition. Socialists and without parties. These words go to big parties and small parties. Civil society, immigration and diaspora. Young and old. To mothers and fathers. Brothers and sisters. But these words also apply to Berisha's critics.

There are moments in history when divisions must be put aside. There are moments in history when the political struggle is eclipsed by an existential emergency. For every nation, there comes a moment in history when it is faced with the question: "To be or not to be?" This is the moment for the Albanian nation! And today, every Albanian must see things as they are", underlined Berisha./ CNA
