The member of the Presidency of the DP, Grigels Muçollari, has reacted to the protest that took place today in front of the Municipality of Tirana.

Muçollari says that the flares and the burning of tires in front of the City Hall showed the anger of the citizens towards the mayor Erion Veliaj and the thefts of the directors.

He emphasizes that the tire fire did not harm anyone, as the protesters and their organizers took care of the police.

The member of the Presidency of the DP declares that the people of Veliaj are trying to incite anger in the public, but underlines that the fire in the protest is today the best guardian of the city, of the public interest and of the taxpayers.

The protests of the Opposition, the Alliance for the Protection of the Theater and activists in front of the City Hall, after the discovery of some serious corrupt affairs of Veliaj and his close associates, have been accompanied by some symbolism.

One of them was throwing some flares, or burning tires. People's anger when the mayor is caught stealing and does not take any responsibility, does not leave or apologize, even worse attacks and appears arrogant, there is no way to express it with flowers and hugs.
