"The president who loses the elections, goes to vote of confidence"/

Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has issued a statement to the media where he has responded to numerous controversies that question whether he will resign or continue to be the head of the Democratic Party.

He showed himself ready, saying that the DP statute will be strictly implemented, even though in this case, according to him, the elections were manipulated in various forms.

" The problem of the chair is solved with the DP statute. The president who loses the election goes to a vote of confidence.

This will also happen with stolen elections. I do not need any kind of alibi that the statute will be applied point by point.

All my effort is done as an obligation to democracy and to all those citizens who voted against the system or who were afraid to vote against it.

A society that does not hold free elections has no future.

In this context, I note with regret, but not discouragement, how the propaganda machine has penetrated the television studios, from morning until dinner, trying to present to Albanians or question the vote-buying or exclusion of 180 thousand voters, question the collection of cards, question the intervention of crime.

In this discussion, they seek to anesthetize society and legitimize the macabre act of a man who, publicly in front of Albanians and the world, declared the Electoral Code a Chinese.

Therefore, I appeal to the Albanians, despise them with slanderous contempt against you, against the interest of each one of you, which is done with staggering salaries of the narco-government, which, after buying the elections, now wants to sell its fraud.

Every night, as you hear, the opposition is to blame.

The analysis of DP at all levels, for all problems, for all responsibilities, will become more transparent and stronger than ever before, with the aim of perfecting the work for a further reformation of this political force.

Every democrat should know that this is our major obligation to every Albanian voter. But for the time that we defend the vote, all our energies are focused on the defense of the vote.

And this is not an easy process. You should know that there are people who, for a test, play with their heads. This is a gang regime, it is a narco-state that does not respect any rules," said Berisha./ CNA.al
