The deputy of the Socialist Party, Fatmir Xhafaj, has raised concerns regarding the government's draft for increasing salaries in the administration.

According to him, this draft does not preserve the hierarchy of the state pyramid.

Xhafaj underlines that this draft increases salaries for some commissioners who will receive a higher salary than judges or prosecutors.

" It is absurd to say that a wage increase cannot be supported, on the contrary, it deserves great support. The higher the wages, the better. But I will ask some questions fully supporting the presented project and you will have my vote in favor.

In relation, you said that all this comes because a decision of the Constitutional Court came out and we want to preserve the hierarchy. With this you really manage to maintain the hierarchy. Do you guarantee this or is it an argument just to do this? I find that this hierarchy is not preserved. You can set certain coefficients, but the hierarchy is not preserved. We will have people who will take much more than certain functions.

Could there be another formula to change the laws in order to change the wages. The constitutionalist has spoken, we must implement it. This has also come about because the government and the assembly did not know how to defend themselves in the Constitution. What catches my eye is that I see that some salaries with the increase of the coefficients that you want to do, all these Commissioners, with the increase of the coefficient, exceed the basic salary of the judge and the prosecutor. I do not believe that all of them do a more socially useful job than a judge and prosecutor. All the commissioners, even in relation to the deputy, are much higher. I don't support the way you asked to do it", said Xhafaj.

On the other hand, Minister Delina Ibrahimaj answered:

"The heads of independent institutions receive only the salary specified in this law. All magistrates receive the salary supplement, it is a permanent supplement that cannot be removed. It is a special law, which will be discussed quickly in this committee. The need to have a hierarchy where the President is at the top, it was necessary. One of the reasons was the decision of the Constitution, but not the only one," Ibrahimaj said./ CNA.al
