The new Electoral Code/ Dashamir See lawsuit in the Constitutional Court

The head of the LZHK, Dashamir Shehi, filed a lawsuit in the Constitutional Court regarding the Electoral Code, approved by the Assembly on July 26.

In the lawsuit, it is specified that the deputies should be appointed by the citizens, not the parties, while it requested open lists.

With 106 votes in favor, 2 against and no abstentions, the Assembly approved in the last session of this legislature the changes agreed between the parties for the new Electoral Code.
Two deputies, Enkelejd Alibeaj and the other democratic deputy Dash Sula raised the card against. 30 deputies who were present did not participate in the vote.

According to the new Code, the list of deputies will not be completely open. 1/3 will be closed and exclusive to the party chairman and not subject to preferential voting.

While the candidates in 2/3 of the list will fight to win even one more vote than the others, which will automatically give them the right to move up in the rankings and hope to win the mandate./CNA
