Two days ago, former president Ilir Meta was asked about his possible candidacy as mayor of Tirana.

Meta denied such news, as he said on the show "Te Paespozuariti" that he did not and does not have this intention, while he accused the publisher Nikoll Lesi as the promoter of this idea.

"This is not a plan of mine, nor has it been. While a mutual colleague of ours has been among the main ones in promoting this idea, you understand... (referring to Les)

I believe that the opposition has many candidates capable and able to change Tirana and I will give maximum support", said the leader of PL.

On the other hand, journalist Nikoll Lesi commented on this statement last evening.

He said on Erla Mëhilli's "Now" show that Meta will not run for mayor of Tirana, as he claims that the Democratic Party has not accepted.

"Ilirin was burned by PD, the Democratic Party did not accept him. He was the only one who could face Veliaj. They burned him", stressed Lesi./ BA - CNA.al
