Former Prime Minister and at the same time Head of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha has held a meeting with branch 9 in Tirana.

Accompanied by other democrats, Berisha during his speech expressed optimism about the battle launched against the government of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Berisha emphasized that the DP is the party of great impossibilities that makes them possible.

"Good evening, and a heartfelt greeting to each of you, DP members of branch 9. A heartfelt greeting to all the members of the DP of Tirana, our sympathizers, supporters and supporters.

Good evening and greetings, dear head of branch 9 of PD of Tirana, Mrs. Eda, deputy, Dhurata, Belind, Akil, Floriana, Elda, Ilir, Klevis. Among other things, Sali Berisha recalled the time of communism, Albania's membership in NATO, the liberalization of visas and the doubling of salary increases during the Democratic Party government, where he said that these were once an illusion.

"And I tell you that this party as a whole has been like that, but in the impossibilities of the last three years, it witnessed true miracles. Don't forget that, in 1992, we overthrew the most brutal dictatorship. Do not forget that, after the rebellion of 1997, those who came to power with guns, we ousted them with the free vote of the citizens. Remember that, that those in countless views. Many, countless were those who, when they heard about the National Road, said that it could never be built.

Others, quite a few, thought that Albania's membership in NATO is a real illusion, that visas would not be liberalized, that salaries would not be doubled during our government. But all these, you are witnesses, became reality.

After them, PD came again before the hardest, most difficult alternative in its life. 'To be, or not to be', to be, or not to be, in the sense of: to be the party of its mission, to restore democracy in Albania or to remain a vassal party, a facade of political pluralism.

These 3 years, in an unparalleled, unparalleled battle, this party showed extraordinary vitality. And I tell you, this vitality came first of all from your invincible spirit. It sprang from the righteous cause that you never gave up.”

On the other hand, Berisha said that the protests that took place in front of the Tirana municipality have cornered Erion Veliaj like a mouse in the headquarters of his party.

According to Berisha, Veliaj hides from shame lest journalists or citizens catch him, because he has turned into a scarecrow.

“Hold on a moment, I'm only taking one aspect. When you started the battle against Erion Veliaj, with those weekly protests, where was Erion Veliaj and where is he today, who enters the headquarters of his party like a mouse out of shame that journalists or citizens are catching him.

So, where did you find it? He stole the elections, but you have turned him into a scarecrow, you have turned him into a pseudo-president, you have turned him into a man discredited by all Albanians. He really stole the votes, he really stole the votes, but Belind Këlliçi and you together made him talk to himself, you made him ashamed of every citizen, you made him ashamed of every socialist.
