Ish-presidenti Ilir Meta është bërë “trim” dhe ka folur për ndryshimin e mbiemrit dhe për kërkesën e Autoritetit të Dosjeve drejtuar Kuvendit, që zbuloi se një politikan i lartë me inicialet I.M. ka qenë bashkëpunëtor i Sigurimit të Shtetit.
Gjatë një takimi me strukturat e Partisë së Lirisë së Tiranës, duke iu përgjigjur kryeministrit Edi Rama, Meta tha se emri i tij është Ilir Rexhep Metaj
Kreu i PL-së pretendon se nuk e ka ndryshuar asnjëherë mbiemrin dhe nuk e ka denoncuar të atin.
“Ka hallin si e kam mbiemrin Meta apo Metaj , asnjëherë se kam ndryshuar, as nuk e kam denoncuar babain tim, unë jam Ilir Rexhep Metaj, kam ardhur 1 vjeç në Tiranë, tek çerdhja e Pazari i Ri, 8 vjeçar ja tek Fan Noli, tek Sami Frashëri, pastaj tek Ekonomiku”, tha Meta./ B.A. - CNA.al
