Former mayors behind bars / Rama is set in motion

Prime Minister Edi Rama will gather today all the mayors of the country.

At 10.30 it is reported that the meeting will start, where the focus will be the summer season, local elections 2023, without leaving aside discussions on the performance of the Government.

Let us remember that some of Rama's mayors are in prison today, for corruption through tenders or even for drug trafficking, as is the case of Agim Kajmaku.

Valdrin Pjetri, elected mayor of Shkodra in 2019, lost his mandate due to the decriminalization law, as he had hidden a sentence in the past.

The former mayor of Vora, Agim Kajmaku became the subject of the decriminalization law and was recently arrested in Italy with cocaine.

In July 2021, the mayor of Lushnje, Fatos Tushe, was fired by the Prime Minister after being arrested for corruption by the SPAK. /CNA.al
