Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting in the city of Korça this afternoon. In his speech to the Socialists, Rama focused on the inclusion of women and girls in politics.

Rama called increasing women's participation in politics a national and social duty.

Rama said that this is not a matter of beauty, but of opportunity and will.

"This party has done a great national and social duty. It has created spaces that women either had very limited access to or lacked altogether. This is not a matter of beauty. It is a matter of virtues, abilities. And above all, it is a matter of will."

Women have made it possible for everyone to grow up as wrestlers. Their involvement in decision-making has increased the quality of decision-making. When we started this path, there were no women in organizations. In total, there were less than 15%. Today, there are 40% women and girls. I think we should not stop here. Until the SP has one more woman than men. We need to add another 10 thousand. That the work is done better.

I believe that our political growth has come from the participation of women. The most beautiful thing is that there are women and girls on the closed lists. This has not been an easy path and a great effort. We started in 2011 with 12% of women in Municipal Councils. And in 2023 there will be 50% women and girls. In public administration, women and girls are more than half", said Rama./CNA
