The Governor of the Bank of Albania, Gent Sejko, has stated that cyber attacks on the banking system are continuous.

The Governor said in the Commission on Disinformation that a great deal is being done and they are cooperating with all the second level banks to increase investments in the protection of the banking system.

Sejko said that measures are being taken to have stronger protective filters for the banking system.

"There have been continuous attacks. We have two types of interventions. One is with attacks on the banking and financial system and the other intervention is through disinformation.

Both of these interventions are dangerous depending on their strength and impact. Despite the intervention, the financial system has been stable. We have taken measures together with second level banks.

There is a big job, we are continuing to encourage the second level banks to increase investments for the protection of the system.

We have increased our budget, we are taking measures to have stronger protection filters.
