A great burden is being placed on the socialists that does not begin and does not end with the elections. It is a heavy weight for them, there is someone who is like a boil inside them, who is not related to the SP .
He is the one who protested against the socialists, who brought the SP into opposition in 2005. While he then claimed to be the heir and take over the leadership of that party.
Erion Veliaj today has become a burden, it is a big cost for the socialists, it is not the next elections. They risk losing only to Erion Veliaj.
In the polls that Rama has on the table that many socialist politicians know, including the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj is the most hated politician in Albania, perhaps more than Ilir Meta, more than Sali Berisha.
The last two have had their own parties, they have been in politics for decades, they have many undisputed consequences, they can be judged like any other citizen, but Erion Veliaj has had neither a party nor a contribution. His only contribution is the overthrow of the socialists, and today, after almost 20 years, he stands like a machete over the heads of the socialists as a curse.

In 2005, he protested against Fatos Nano and overthrew him. He joined Falmur Nokë in the protests and attacked the socialists for his own interests.
Today he has grabbed the SP by the throat and won't leave. It is not important whether or not he leaves the party or the leadership of Tirana that Edi Rama has already driven him into a corner because Erion Veliaj must be brought to justice and Erion Veliaj must leave the Municipality of Tirana.
Every minute that he stays brings only endless damage to the capital and the socialists, damage that is expected to be electoral.
That Erion Veliaj has fallen politically, this is not discussed, that justice will go to the end and this is also not discussed.
The problem is what will be the electoral costs for SP? What will be the consequences for socialists? Since Erion Veliaj's head before justice can be an incalculable electoral damage and with very high consequences to the extent that this can lead to the loss of the elections.
Everyone is saying this, even pro-Veliaj analysts, pro-him journalists and socialists when you ask them.
In a moment of sincerity, they say that the cost that is being given now at this moment is too great, SPAK should not arrest him now but after the elections and so on.
In fact, SPAK and the Court will not arrest him when the socialists and democrats want, but when the investigations are closed, when the facts and evidence come out.
For the case of Erion Veliaj, there is no need for many facts and evidence. The incinerators are there, the 5D file is there, clientelism and corruption are there.
Everything is quite clear. Erion Veliaj has already fallen, but apparently he is taking after the socialists and their power, as a curse for them.
Erion Veliaj is not just a burden, but a great weight on the back of a party that may have the majority of Albanian votes but that has a boil inside it that is poisoning it and taking it back to the opposition like 20 years ago ago./ CNA
