"The spring effect"/ Malaj: The DP is reverting to its hostile

Former Minister of Finance, Arben Malaj, commented today on the recent situation of the Democratic Party.

Invited to A2 CNN, Malaj said that the biggest problem with this party was that it was in a hostile position towards the opposition for many years, and at this moment it is turning its back on them, because as he pointed out, the 'spring effect' operates in politics.

"The problem is that the party that inspired the great change that happened throughout the East and that would also happen in Albania, but there is always a political factor that accelerates a process, was the hope and dream that Albania would become like the rest of Europe. After 1994, when the Constitution failed, the entire state apparatus of the (then) president Berisha was put in a hostile position with the rest of the country, which was the opposition. And I have had the fortune to learn from political leaders of the Socialist Party, and one of the valuable lessons I have learned from Professor Servet Pëllumbi was the advice he gave to President Berisha at that time. He said: "Be careful, because in politics the spring effect works. The more you press a spring, the more it jumps up". And what the leader of the Democratic Party has left as a political legacy is a total failure in all aspects", - said Malaj. /CNA
