"A turning point is needed in agriculture"/ Rama, with self-criticism

Prime Minister Edi Rama today, at a meeting with farmers and entrepreneurs in Cërrik, Elbasan, stated that agriculture needs a turning point.

Rama said that the 250 million euro loan or sovereign guarantee has not brought results and therefore the approach must be changed.

According to the Prime Minister, he said that the approach of policymakers must change, by engaging in self-criticism.

"A turning point is needed. We do not have a single agricultural enterprise created with the contribution of farmers, entrepreneurs and local government structures. Several attempts have been made, but we cannot say that we have created a model while we have made a new line available."

The loan from the Bank of Albania of 250 million euros, which is a colossal amount to support ambitions, but combined with the sovereign guarantee that has long been available to the village, has not brought results and is likely not to bring results if we do not change our approach, I mean those of us who are in policymaking. To change our approach, we need closer cooperation with the protagonists who are closer to the daily life of the village.

Here are some projects of local leaders and I hope that from today's conversation we will open a new chapter of cooperation and interaction with the territories in which daily village life takes place.
