Violence against women/Vokshi: Harsher punishments for perpetrators

Democratic Party MP Albana Vokshi, through a status on social networks, focused on cases of violence against women.

Vokshi writes that the DP will fight for their safety and there will be harsher punishments for the perpetrators of violence.

" Untouchables: The Democratic Party will protect our mothers, sisters and daughters!"

In Albania, we are constantly faced with tragic cases of violence against women. Most recently, a woman was stabbed again by her husband – a shocking crime that shows how deeply rooted this problem is in our society. The question is: Until when? How many more victims must suffer before the state takes serious action? Why do abusers often go unpunished, while women live in fear? The Democratic Party, under the leadership of Dr. Sali Berisha, will draw a clear line! Our mothers, sisters, daughters and wives are not condemned victims of violence – they are untouchable!

We will fight with all our might for their safety:

Harsher penalties for perpetrators of violence – zero tolerance for violence against women!

Immediate protective measures for threatened women, without bureaucracy and delays!

Real support for shelters and organizations that help women, not just empty promises!

"Women are the backbone of our society. A government that does not protect them has failed! The Democratic Party will take this battle to the end – on behalf of every woman who lives in fear and on behalf of a just and safe Albania ," writes Vokshi./ CNA
