Works on the Tirana-Durres axis/ Rama and Balluku carry out an inspection

Prime Minister Edi Rama and Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku inspected the construction site of the Tirana-Durres highway today. Work is currently underway to turn this highway into a category A highway, with additional lanes for easier and safer traffic.

In his speech, Prime Minister Edi Rama focused mostly on the details of the works, such as space for planting trees and certain changes that create traffic flow.

 "Is there space to plant trees? They will be tall trees and maybe a way needs to be found. This is also the entrance to the city, because it is the entrance for those coming from the airport. Some changes need to be made to have better traffic flow," Rama said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Balluku highlighted some of the details of the project, emphasizing that this is the first phase of the reconstruction and rehabilitation of this highway. 

Balluku said that the new highway will offer 3 passing lanes and an emergency lane.

"It is the first phase of the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the Tirana-Durrës highway. It is about 33 km. The crown of the road width is 32.5m, offering 3 lanes. It will also have an emergency lane. It will be in the category of type A highways. The maximum speed is 130km/hour. Safety standards are met", said Balluku. /CNA
